Hello from Mrs. Blankenship!
mblanken@wcboe.org
Since we will be working together this year, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a Chicago native, who originally moved to Salisbury to attend Salisbury State University. While there, I met Mr. Blankenship (the son of the Mr. Blankenship at Mardela) and fell in love. Currently my husband and I live near Salisbury with our two cats: Iggy and Ding.
I love teaching, but teaching was not my first career. I used to be a News Producer for WBOC-TV. I started working weekends while in college, moved to the 7pm show, and then switched to the morning and noon shows for two years. When I worked on the morning shift, I started at 3:30 AM each day, including Christmas and New Year's Day. Can you guess why I left news? The news is also very frustrating: some days tons of interesting things are happening, then the next day there are no big stories. It is enough to drive you crazy.
This will be my second year at Mardela, and I couldn't be happier about being here. We have a great environment and good people. What we lack in sports, we make up for in heart. I am proud of wearing the green and gold, and I hope you are too.
